Global operator and a leading provider of environmental services
Present throughout the water, waste and energy services value chains.

Originating from Compagnie Générale des Eaux, founded in 1853, Veolia is an environmental group with a presence in the water, waste, and energy services sectors. Veolia’s purpose is to reconcile human progress with environmental protection. After its merger with Suez in 2022, the company consolidated itself as the global leader in environmental services, leveraging its expertise, innovative solutions, technological development, and sustainability approach. Present on all five continents with 215,000 employees, in 2024, the group provided drinking water to 111 million people, sanitation services to 98 million people, and treated 65 milion tonnes of waste.
Veolia is a French company headquartered in Paris, although more than 80% of its business is international. The company enjoys resilient businesses (strongholds: integrated water cycle, waste collection and treatment, and management of heating and cooling networks) and strives to accelerate the growth of its higher value-added businesses (boosters: water tech, hazardous waste, and energy services). The management team is implementing its strategic plan, “Green Up Plan 2024-2027”, which aims to strengthen the stronghold businesses and enhance the boosters, driving ecological transformation (decarbonise, regenerate and decontaminate).
The company enjoys high recognition in sustainability. CDP gives it an ESG rating of A, and FTSE4Good ranks it as the number one water company in terms of sustainability. In parallel with Veolia’s operations, the Veolia Foundation is involved in humanitarian emergencies and in protecting the environment and biodiversity. This foundation promotes social inclusion through work and social connections, providing financial support and skills sponsorship.
