Incorporated in 2013 as a joint corporation, Aigües de Barcelona has been managing water distribution in Barcelona for more than 150 years. Currently is the water supplier company to 23 municipalities in the metropolitan area of Barcelona until 2047.
The company also provides integral water cycle services in the 36 municipalities of the Barcelona metropolitan area, serving over 3 million people. The services provided include: drinking water supply, sewerage and wastewater treatment, remote metre reading, management of non-drinking water and bathing water, and maintenance of decorative fountains.
Aigües de Barcelona is a company firmly committed to water, the environment and people, especially those who are in vulnerable situations, contributing every day to the sustainable development of the metropolitan environment of Barcelona, and globally, to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
