Asunción Ortega Enciso
Asunción Ortega Enciso, born in Ledesma de Soria in 1951. She has served as the trustee of Fundación Bancaria Caixa d’Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona "la Caixa" since December 2016.
She holds a degree in Economic Science from the University of Barcelona.
In the 80s she taught at the "la Caixa" Middle Management School and Training School.
From 2006 to December 2016 she held the position of Executive Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Caixabank Asset Management SGIIC, S.A. During this period she was also a member of the Governing Council of Inverco – the Spanish Association of Collective Investment Schemes and Pension Funds – and the Board of Trustees of the Inverco Foundation.
She began her career at Banco de Bilbao in 1968 and from 1975 she worked part-time in the enterprise management control area together with other economists, at their own office.
In 1979 she began working at Caja de Pensiones para la Vejez y de Ahorros, "la Caixa", in the business and investment planning area, and since then she has held various managerial positions, such as Head of External Resources, Capital Market Manager and Manager of the Personal Banking Area from when it was created in 2001 until 2006.
She joined the Spanish Institute of Financial Analysts in 2001 and is currently the Deputy Chairwoman of this institute, a member of the Board of Directors and Deputy Chairwoman of the Financial Studies Foundation.
