Alejandro García-Bragado Dalmau
First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors. Proprietary Director.
Born in Girona, 1949.
Member and First Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Criteria Caixa, S.A.U. since June 2014. He is member of the Executive Committee since its creation in March 2019.
He graduated in Law from the University of Barcelona. After becoming a State Attorney in 1974 he first worked in Castellón de la Plana before moving to Barcelona at the end of 1975.
In 1984 he requested an extended leave of absence to become the Barcelona Stock Exchange’s legal advisor and in 1989, once the stock exchange became a company, was appointed Secretary to the Board of Directors while continuing to practice law.
In 1994, he left the Barcelona Stock Exchange to concentrate on his legal profession and to provide legal advice to ”la Caixa". In 1995, he was appointed Vice-Secretary to the Board of Directors and Secretary of the Board of Directors in 2003. He was appointed Deputy Director in 2004 and Executive Director in 2005. From June 2014 to December 2016 he held the post of Vice-Chairman and Vice-Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Fundación Bancaria Caixa d’Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona, ”la Caixa”.
At CaixaBank he held the role of Secretary (non-member) of the Board of Directors from May 2009 to December 2016 and General Secretary from July 2011 to May 2014.
He has also been Secretary to the Board of Directors of La Maquinista Terrestre y Marítima, S.A. Intelhorce; Hilaturas Gossipyum; Abertis Infraestructuras, S.A.; Inmobiliaria Colonial, S.A.; and Sociedad General de Aguas de Barcelona, S.A. He has also been Board Member of Gas Natural SDG, S.A.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of CaixaBank, S.A. since January 2017 and member of the Board of Directors of Saba Infraestructuras, S.A. since June 2018.
