Sustainability

For Criteria, sustainability is a strategic pillar that guides the way we create long-term value. We work to integrate sustainability criteria across all areas of our activity and to apply them consistently throughout the companies in our portfolio.

This commitment is reflected in the Sustainability Action Plan, integrated into Criteria’s Strategic Plan and approved by the Sustainability Committee, which drives and oversees its implementation. This Plan is structured around two major aspirations: to promote sustainable and responsible investment with a long-term vision, and to consolidate a culture of sustainability that ensures a diverse, inclusive and responsible environment.

Sustainable and
responsible investment

CriteriaCaixa’s sustainable and responsible investment strategy is based on its founding purpose as the independent and exclusive management instrument for the assets of the ”la Caixa” Foundation. As the Group’s investment vehicle, CriteriaCaixa directs its activity towards the creation of long-term value and the support of the social dividend that enables the Foundation’s transformative work, combining prudent and professional asset management with the objectives of its social mission.

In line with this purpose, its investment policy is aligned with the Foundation’s mission to help create a better and fairer society. Accordingly, CriteriaCaixa’s investment activity promotes economic and social development, consistently integrating the Foundation’s principles and values both in the generation of resources and in their allocation.

Since 2025, CriteriaCaixa has been a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), an initiative promoted by the United Nations that encourages the integration of environmental, social and governance factors into investment decisions, further strengthening the alignment of the Group’s strategy with international best practices
